NGOs in Bangalore – Orphanages, Old Age Homes and NGOs for disabled

A college junior of mine today visited an old age home in Bangalore. It gave me the idea to compile a list of some of the good NGOs I have visited in Bangalore. I have visited NGOs in Bangalore that help children, old age, and the disabled. For those of you who are in Bangalore, I hope you will find the list below useful. I have listed the NGOs in several categories:

NGOs for children – Orphanages in Bangalore

Madhu Mansion Charitable Trust

Address – 8,3rd Cross,5th Main,Vasa layout Dodda Nekkundi Post, Marathahalli Bengaluru, Karnataka 560037

I visit this one every Sunday, spending few hours to teach the kids here. I have been going here for 4 years now.

Madhu Mansion

Sri Sai Krupa Charitable Trust

A very good and well managed NGO. They have some elderly residents also.

NGOs for disabled – For differently-abled and palliative care

Samarthanam Trust For Disabled

Address – CA: 39, 16th Main Road, 15th Cross Rd, Sector 4, HSR Layout, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560102

Quite a big NGO with various departments – they provide schooling, training, library and other facilities. You can volunteer to make audio recording of the books which can then be used by the blind students.

Address – 40, Varthur Rd, Vaikuntam Layout, Lakshminarayana Pura, Kundalahalli, Marathahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560037

A palliative care center for cancer patients. They try to help patients and families cope with the tragedy that struck them. Many children of the cancer patients are adopted by Madhu Mansion Charitable Trust, the orphanage that I visit regularly to teach kids.

Please reach out to me to know more about these NGOs. Together we can do a lot in helping and contributing towards their noble cause.
